I’m feeling moved to share about about a candidate I know and love, who is running for selectman on May 2,  Tom Clay.
Tom’s tremendous work on the Westford School Committee truly speaks for itself, but I wanted to share a bit about him on a more personal level. I know Tom through First Parish Church United, he was one of the first folks I had met when I joined many years ago, and one of the first that helped me to feel welcome there. Within FPCU, Tom has been very active in too many things to mention. One notable thing is that he (and his family) have spearheaded some amazing outreach work with the teen center, UTEC in Lowell. He’s very humble about it, I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere, but it’s just one of the many good things he does without caring who knows it. Speaking more to this character trait, he volunteers annually at the Strawberry Festival, and he is always willing to help with the unglamorous behind the scenes work (food delivery, clearing trash, and whatever volunteer positions I might be having trouble filling that day). Whether on a political, professional or personal level, he always does what’s needed to get the job done right.
In conclusion, I’ll say that for this Westfordian on May 2, it’s Clay all the way! — Jess Anderson, Woods Pond Drive
