Preparing for Baby and Newborn Care: 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 9. In this workshop, learn the essentials of newborn care, in an engaging, interactive class. Come with questions and be ready to try new things. Topics include: Creating safe environments for sleep and play; newborn reflexes, appearances, and mannerisms; infant soothing techniques; swaddling and baby wearing; washing, bathing and trimming nails; feeding the baby, breast, bottle and everything in between.  Cost: $40/$37 per couple or $30 for single person.

Surviving and Thriving in the 4th Semester: 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 16.  In this workshop, you will learn to make preparations for your 4th trimester, those first months of your newborn’s life. While you are learning to care for your baby, your body, emotions and relationships will be going through transformations. Learn what to expect, how to prepare and ways to empower yourself to have an amazing start to parenthood. Cost: $40/$37 per couple or $30 for single person.

Foundations of Breast Feeding: 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 23.  Breastfeeding provides many benefits to you, your baby and the entire family. It is one of the most natural parts of motherhood but that doesn’t mean it comes naturally to everyone! In this class we’ll talk about the fundamentals of breastfeeding to help you get off to a good start. Topics include: benefits of breastfeeding; positions and tips for proper latch; feeding cues; skin-to-skin; how to know if baby is eating enough milk; common problems and how to get help. Cost $40/$37 per couple or $30 for single person.

 Selling, Buying and Making Improvements on Your Home

For Sale By Owner: 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 18. Join Attorneys Brian Alcorn and Amsi Owens as they take you through the process of selling your home with or without the help of a realtor. They will discuss the home sales process from the seller’s perspective and provide information on smoke detector inspection and Title V requirements. Cost: Free, but must register online.

First Time Home buying Made Easy: 7 to 8:30 p.m.  Thursday, May 11. Join Attorneys Amsi Owens and Brian Alcorn for an evening discussion that will take first time home buyers through the home buying process. Topics covered include making the offer, purchase and sales agreements, what to expect at a closing, and everything in between.  Cost: Free, but must register online.

How and Why to Go Solar: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11. Are you curious about solar energy? Get answers to your questions such as how solar works; the benefits of a solar electric system, including lower electric bills! Cost: $10/$7.

Preserving Your Historic Home: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday June 8.This class will offer effective solutions on how to deal with lead paint, mold and other environmental issues in your home, with a special focus on preserving the historic details, character and old world features that make your home a unique treasure. Cost: $20/$17

Family Pet Class

Social Puppy 1: 9:15 to 10:30 p.m. Thursdays, May 11 to June 1 or 5 to 6 pm, Wednesdays, May 17 to June 1. Build your dog’s overall confidence in the world around them, social skills with dogs and people, and trust in you through positive training games and off-leash play. Cost: $93/$90.

Self Improvement

Make up and Wake Up Class Aroma Spa: 10 am to 12 p.m., Saturday, May 13 at 175 Littleton Road Westford.  This Basic Beauty class is designed to accommodate all skill levels. No previous makeup experience is required. This is a perfect event for mothers, daughters, sisters, friends who want to have a fun afternoon together. We will provide: hypoallergenic cleansers, toners and moisturizers; a full back bar of our mineral makeup line Jane Iredale; step-by-step makeup demonstration of how to create a natural-looking makeup application and how to successfully incorporate shading, highlighting, and contouring to create an illusion of high cheekbones, a n arrow nose and slimmer neckline.

Zumba 1 and 2: 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. Thursdays, May 4 to June 15.  There are still openings in this class. The Zumbafitness program mixes global rhythms and easy-to-follow Latin-inspired dance moves that turn your workout into a party! Our goals are simple: Give you a safe, effective workout in a judgement free, low-pressure environment. This class provides the hottest music tracks and moves that bring the party. Burn calories, tone muscle, and build endurance while having FUN! Zumba is appropriate for all fitness levels. No prior dance or fitness experience is necessary to participate in the program. The cost of $93/$90 will be prorated for those beginning after May 4.

Clay Potters Wheel Sculpture for Children:  4:30 to 6 pm May 8 to June 12 or May 9 to June 13. Location: Pottery Studio 108 Lowell Rd. Westford  Cost: $132/$129 for five weeks, and $158/$155 for 6 weeks.
