Shane Lazar has been teaching, training, and consulting in the metro-west area as a fitness and nutrition professional for over 20 years, with regular classes and a loyal following. She is certified in both personal training and group fitness. Lazar has a bachelor of science in nutrition from Framingham State University and is a registered dietitian.
Lazar specializes in many modes of health and fitness training some of which include: Total Body Resistance Exercise, kettle bells, high intensity interval training (HIIT), and other forms of strength training such as free weights and machines, and band and ball training. Additionally, she offers group instruction and nutrition education; but she said her niche is in weight loss consulting and personal training.
Clients range from children – she is currently running a program in the Acton School district – to seniors and all ages in between, she said. Strength training and cardiovascular exercise are a fixture in all her training.
“I love the feeling that I’ve played a part in improving their health and wellness,” Lazar said. “After all my years of teaching as well as the growing knowledge in my own personal fitness, to teach and inspire others with what I know both in nutrition and fitness has been the most empowering and rewarding experience for me and I love it. I often feel I get more out of it than my clients do as the relationships are very special to me. ”
