Holiday Hours: The Library will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 25.  We will reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26.  The Library will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 31 and  Monday, Jan. 1.  We will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 10 a.m.

Glittery Gingerbread Man Drop-in Craft: Thursday, Dec. 7 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Early release day for Westford Public Schools. Students can stop by the Meeting Room to make a glittery gingerbread man – this is a quick craft opportunity for ages 5 and up. This free, drop in program is funded by the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library.

Teen and Tween Make & Take Monday: Monday, Dec. 11 at 3:30 p.m.    Imagine, create, and participate!  Each Monday teens will participate in a variety of hands-on activities that will include making fun, seasonal crafts, exploring STEAM activities, and/or creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces.  All materials will be provided at the program in the Library’s Meeting Room. This Week: Pine Cone Elves, Peppermint Candy Bowls, and Holiday Nice Cream. This is a Free, drop-in event.

 Annual holiday fun for everyone with Steve Blunt, Thursday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrate the season with musician Steve Blunt – we’ll be ringing jingle bells, dancing, and singing along. Tickets ($2.00) for children and adults are available in person. This program is for all ages

Adult Book Discussion Group: Thursday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. “Love Anthony” by Lisa Genova will be discussed. This will also be the “Title Picking Party for 2018.” Participants can bring recommendations for next year’s reading list.  Copies of the current reading selection are available for check-out at the Main Desk.  New Members are always welcome. Free. Drop in.

Murder Mystery Book Club: Monday, Dec. 18 at 10:30 a.m. Wake up your week with a stimulating book discussion! We meet once a month on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Mary Atwood Room. The December selection is “Before the Fall” by Noah Hawley. This is also the “Title Picking Party.” Participants can bring suggestions for next year’s reading list. Light refreshments will be served. Copies of the current selection are available for check-out at the Main Desk. New Members are always welcome. No registration required.

Cookbook Book Club: Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. The Cookbook Book Club is dedicated to exploring cookbooks and sampling new recipes. Copies of this month’s choice, “Not Your Mother’s Slow Cooker: Recipes for Entertaining,” by Beth Hensperger are available for check out at the Main Desk. If you would like to bring a dish from the cookbook (not required to participate), please contact Sarah Regan in the Information Services Department at 978-399-2309. No registration required.

A Celtic Holiday: Holiday Harp Music: Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room Attendees can join singer, harper, storyteller, and poet Kate Chadbourne for a warm and festive program of songs and stories drawn from Irish and Celtic tradition. They can sing and laugh, to feel the wonder of winter, and to encounter a rather mysterious special guest. Free. All ages are welcome. No registration required.
