Story Garden Walk: The J.V. Fletcher library is featuring its first ever Story Walk at the Westford Community Garden. Residents can walk around the outside garden fence and enjoy a children’s book and some exercise. They can just follow the signs around the Community Garden. They are asked to use the QR code to leave comments or to sign the guest book and take a book mark.  P.S. Only Garden members can go inside the Garden gate.

Teen & Tween Star Wars Role Play with Mastermind Adventures: Monday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. This action-packed program is full of Star Wars games and mystery.  This free registration program is for students in grades 5 to 12.  Residents are asked to pre-register on the YA Zone web page or call the Youth Services department at 978-399-2302.

Teen & Tween Percy Jackson Role Play with Mastermind Adventures: Monday, July 9 at 1:30 p.m. Residents are invited to participate in the action-packed program full of Percy Jackson games and mystery.  This free registration program is for students in grades 5 to 12.  Residents can pre-register on the YA Zone web page or call the Youth Services department at 978-399-2302.

Lindsay and her Puppet Pals: Tuesday, July 10 at 11 a.m. Lindsay, with giant hand puppets and marionettes, brings a show filled with silliness, crowd participation, and unique, memorable characters. This is a series of positive short stories. Tickets ($2) for children and adults are available in the Children’s room. This program is for ages 3 and older.

Teen & Tween Intro to Amateur Radio: Wednesday July 11 at 1 p.m. Residents can connect with people in faraway places using Hamm Radio Technology. This free registration program is for students in grades 5 to 12. Residents can pre-register on the YA Zone web page or call the Youth Services department at 978-399-2302.

Camp Read A-Lot: Wednesday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. This program offers singing and dancing around the indoor campfire. Program takes place in the Story Hour Room. This free registration program is for ages 3-7. Residents can pre-register at the Children’s Desk.

Gray Seals and Great White Sharks of Cape Cod: Thursday, July 12 at 7 p.m. Join photographer Robert Michelson for a narrated slideshow. Through exclusive underwater photographs, viewers will be able to follow seal researchers as they capture and sample newborn Gray seal pups on the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge and Wilderness Area south of Chatham. Learn how great white sharks have been returning in ever increasing numbers to hunt their favorite snack — gray seals. Open to all ages.   Register through the meeting room calendar or call the Information Services Department at 978-399-2304.

J.V. Fletcher Adult Book Discussion Group: Thursday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. Residents can discuss “Sacco and Vanzetti” by Bruce Watson.  Copies of the current reading selection are available for check-out at the Main Desk.  New members are always welcome.  Registration is not required.

Teen & Tween Ukulele Workshop with Julie Stepanek: Monday, July 16 at 1 p.m.  Residents can learn how to play the ukulele with just four chords. Ukuleles will be available, if needed.  This free registration program is for students in grades 5 to 12. Students are asked to pre-register on the YA Zone web page or call the Youth Services department at 978-399-2302.

Family concert with Steve Blunt and Marty Kelley: Wednesday, July 18 at 11:30 a.m. Library favorite, Steve Blunt is back for a family summer concert along with his pal, children’s author Marty Kelley. Steve and Marty will deliver a high energy show featuring catchy tunes and bouncy beats. Attendees can pack a picnic lunch and dance on the grass in back of the library. FREE for all ages. (If it rains, attendees are asked to eat before arriving. The concert will then be held in the Meeting Room.)

Cookbook Book Club: Thursday, July 19 (new night!) at 7 p.m. The Cookbook Book Club is dedicated to exploring cookbooks and sampling new recipes. Copies of this month’s choice, Cooking at Home with Bridget & Julia by Bridget Lancaster, are available for check out at the Main Desk. Participants who would like to bring a dish from the cookbook (not required to participate), are asked to contact Sarah Regan in the Information Services Department at 978-399-2309. Registration is not required.  Schedule change — this club now meets on the third Thursday of the month.

Teen & Tween Learn to Draw Your Pets with Debra Banna: Thursday, July 19 at 4 p.m.  Participants can learn to draw the furry friends that enrich lives. This free registration program is for students in grades 5 to 12.  Students can pre-register on the YA Zone web page or call the Youth Services department at 978-399-2302.

Caps for Sale by the Vermont PuppeTree Company: Thursday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m.  Based on the classic children’s book, the PuppeTree celebrates diversity with a globetrotting romp across seven different cultures, employing a variety of puppets accompanied by a range of music from Estonia to Mumbai. FREE tickets for children and adults are available by phone or in person.  This program is for kids in grades K to 6 and is funded by the KDK Foundation (in honor of Kurt Kelly).
