After holding an on-air public forum in the WestfordCAT studio on Aug. 8, the five Democratic candidates for the First Middlesex District State Senate seat paused to experience a Virtual Reality game created by applications developer Billy Williams.

Candidates Terry Ryan of Westford, John Drinkwater of Lowell and Rodney Elliott of Lowell donned headsets while Lowell residents Edward J. Kennedy, and William F. Martin, Jr. chatted.

The five are vying for the seat vacated this spring by Eileen Donoghue.

The forum was sponsored and organized by members of the Westford Democratic Town Committee.
