Health Beat host Ray Peachey speaks with Westford health inspector Rae Dick at WestfordCAT studios.
Peachey, who is the Health Department’s Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator, asked Dick to detail her responsibilities.
“I inspect children’s camps, beach testing…Once a week in the summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day we inspect close to 14 beaches…I inspect hazardous materials. Housing inspections…I inspect animals: horses, piggeries, pools (at hotels and condominium associations.) Some food inspections here in town and I review building permits, grants. It’s a big list.”
