Sixteen baby parakeets ranging from 3 to 6 months old, recently were brought into the Lowell Humane Society after the home they lived in had too many accidental litters.
“We are hoping to adopt them them all in pairs as they are very social little creatures and they love to have a friend,” said Marketing and Fundraising Manager, Crystal Arnott. “Families that have larger cages, of course, are welcome to adopt a larger flock. They are flock creatures and can certainly live in larger groups.”
In addition to the 16 baby parakeets, there are two pairs of older, bonded parakeets that are looking for new homes. “There is certainly a parakeet for everyone here,” said Arnott.
All 20 parakeets are available now for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society.
