The Westford Knights girls under-13 soccer team remained unbeaten with a 3-0 shutout of Franklin on Sunday, Oct. 6 in local Northeast Soccer League (NSL) action.
The Knights started the game slowly, heading into halftime tied 0-0. However, the offense ignited in the 2nd half. Ella Pantoja got the scoring started off a nice through ball assist from Olivia Cipriano. Clara Anderson had perfect positioning on the back post and knocked in a beautiful crossing ball from Macie Bast. Sofie Cotter added the icing on a well placed penalty kick. Amelia Taylor was a standout at stopper, aggressively winning balls in the defensive end and launching the offensive attack. Olivia Cipriano and Olivia Marcouillier split the goalkeeping duties for their fourth shutout in five games.
The Knights remain undefeated at 4-0-1 and travel to Wellesley on Oct. 20 for a matchup of unbeaten teams.
