I am writing to you with my concerns about the up-coming school budget. As a Guidance Counselor for more than 17 years in various districts, from Dover-Sherborn and Acton-Boxborough to Westford Academy (entering my sixth year).

I have been fortunate to work in some of Massachusetts’ finest school systems, including our exemplary Westford Public Schools.  I am especially concerned about the potential cut to our school budget and the effects it will have on staff, students and families – who move to towns like Westford, seeking out quality education for their children.

Please keep this in mind as we enter into the budget process this year.  We don’t want our school system to lose momentum for our current students and families and for future ones as well. — Brian Doherty, Westford Academy Guidance Counselor
