Holiday Hours: The Library will be open on Tuesday, Dec. 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  We will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26.  The Library will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31.  We will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1 and will reopen on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 10:00 a.m.

 Monday Mystery Book Club: Mon., Dec. 16 (note date change!) at 10:30 a.m. Wake up your week with a stimulating book discussion!  We meet on the fourth Monday morning of the month @ 10:30 a.m. in the Mary Atwood Room. Our Dec. selection is The Twelve Clues of Christmas by Rhys Bowen. Copies are available at Main Desk. New members always welcome! This meeting is also our title-picking party! Bring your book ideas for 2020. 

Make & Take Mondays: Dec. 16 – Star Wars Magnets. Imagine, create, and participate! Each Monday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm Teens and Tweens can participate in a variety of hands-on activities that include making fun, seasonal crafts and exploring STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) activities. This is a FREE drop – in event for Teens and Tweens in Grades 5 to 12, registration is NOT required.

Holiday Sing Along with Steve Blunt, Wed., Dec. 18 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrate the season with musician Steve Blunt – we’ll be ringing jingle bells, dancing, and singing along. Tickets ($2.00) for children and adults are available in person starting Monday, December 2. This program is for all ages.

Winter Solstice Drop-in Craft: Sat., Dec. 21 from 11 to 4:30 p.m. The Winter Solstice is Miss Nancy’s favorite day of the year. It is considered the start of winter, but she thinks since the days are getting longer; it is all downhill to SPRING!  Depending on your point of view, you can either make a beaded pipe cleaner snowflake or sun to celebrate. This free drop-in program takes place in the Children’s room and is generously funded by the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library.

Knitting Group: Mon., Dec. 23 at 6:30 p.m. Do you enjoy knitting? Our informal knitting group meets in the Mary Atwood Room on the second Monday of every month from 3 to 5 p.m. AND the fourth Monday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is a drop-in program that is open to all ages. Bring your latest project and share advice and socialize with other knitters! If you have any questions, please call Sarah Regan at 978-399-2309.

5th Annual 9-Hole Mini Golf in the Library: Mon., Dec. 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.And the tradition continues … a nine hole (and a bonus hole) mini-golf course all over the library. Here is something to do with the whole family during the holiday break. This free drop-in program is generously funded by the KDK Memorial Foundation (in honor of Kurt Kelly).

Preschool New Year’s Eve Party: Tues., Dec. 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Youth Services librarians cannot possibly stay up until midnight so drop-in for a fun filled New Year’s party with kid friendly crafts, singing, dancing, and a celebratory countdown to noon with noisemakers and confetti! Free drop-in for children 5 and under with their caregivers.

Database of the Week: Gale OneFile: News. Provides access to more than 2,300 major U.S. regional, national, and local newspapers, as well as leading titles from around the world. It also includes thousands of images, radio and TV broadcasts and transcripts. Check out our Databases page to learn more.

Concord Museum Pass : A remarkable revolutionary and literary history experience. Our Friends funded pass admits up to 4 people based on availability. Check out the museum passes page on our website or call the Library for reservations.
