The venerable Tim Ray, full-time Musical Director and pianist for Tony Bennett, returns with his trio to the Parish Center for the Arts, on Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. to perform music from his new recording, and from their 2017 release “Windows.” Tim Ray celebrates the release of his new jazz trio CD, “Excursions and Adventures.” Tim is joined by bassist John Lockwood and drummer Mark Walker to perform music from his new recording, and from their 2017 release “Windows.”

Tim has performed and toured with a who’s who of jazz and popular music icons, including Aretha Franklin, Lyle Lovett, Gary Burton and Phil Woods, and is just back from a tour with the legendary Tony Bennett. Tim’s busy schedule has included frequent tours throughout the Americas, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and has included performances at Carnegie Hall, the White House, the Kennedy Center and the 1992 Presidential Inauguration.

Ray has also performed repeatedly on “The Tonight Show” (Johnny Carson, Jay Leno), “Late Night with David Letterman,” “The Conan O’Brien Show,” “Austin City Limits” and various other national TV and radio broadcasts.A sought-after arranger and composer, Tim has penned numerous original works for his trio Tre Corda, for solo piano, big band, string orchestra, and an extensive body of writing for jazz trio and quartet. He is a grant recipient from the National Endowment for the Arts, and is currently on the faculty of the Berklee College of Music.

Tim was previously on the faculty of the New England Conservatory of Music, has lectured and taught improvisation at Harvard University and MIT, and also conducts workshops and clinics at colleges and high schools throughout the U.S. and Canada.The PCA jazz series also features a special Valentines Day show by Lydia “Lovely Singer” Harrell on Feb 15,and violinist Jason Anick joins the Jason Yeager Quartet on April 18.
