Former rock radio personality and host, Patty Stocker, invites Somerville singer, songwriter, and musician, Katie Dobbins to the set of Local Music Rocks. Dobbins is a 2018 New England Music Award Winner who hails from Guilford, New Hampshire but now resides in Somerville. Self describing her music as “acoustic folk pop with a country twist,” this multi-talented artist performs two acoustic sets, one on guitar and one on keyboard.

Dobbins also takes some time to talk about her 2019 sophomore album, “There is Light,” which was nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year by the New England Music Awards; explains what it was like to perform on the Bank of NH Magic Hat Stage at the Heart and Sheryl Crow Love Alive Tour over the summer; and shares why she enjoys hosting the Songwriter Roundup at The Burren Backroom in Davis Square every month.

Katie’s music can be found on iTunes, Spotify, BandCamp and Amazon. She is currently working on some new songs, two of which she performs on this episode of Local Music Rocks.

Local Music Rocks features local singers, songwriters, and musicians who perform their original music at WestfordCAT studios. If you, or someone you know, would like to be on an episode of LMR, contact Patty Stocker at [email protected]
