Although the Lowell Humane Society is closed to the public during the COVID-19 shutdown, the operators of the shelter are still trying to find their long-timers loving homes. By making an appointment, interested adopters can meet 6-year-old, Twinkie, a six year old cat originally featured at the beginning of March. When Twinkie was surrendered back in December, he was shy and fearful, according to the shelter’s Marketing and Fundraising Manager, Crystal Arnott. “We sent him into a foster home to get to know him a little better,” she added. “And luckily he came out of his shell and let us know exactly what types of things he likes. We have found out he’s a big fan of mouse toys. He likes to chase mouse toys all over the house.”
Twinkie also enjoys wand toys, gentle petting, and lounging next to his owner, said Arnott. He will do best in a quiet home with older, respectful children. Twinkie is available now for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society.
Contact the shelter at 978-452-7781 if interested in setting up an appointment.
