MASS DOT: Littleton and Westford, May 26 – 28; Overnight Closures on I-495 between Exits 30 and 32

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will be conducting overnight paving operations which will cause slowdowns on Interstate 495 northbound and southbound between exits 30 and 32 in Littleton and Westford. The paving operations will take place on the evenings of Tuesday, May 26, Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, beginning at 7 p.m. each night, and concluding at 5:30 a.m. the following morning.

There will also be intermittent on and off-ramp closures at I-495 northbound at exit 31 (Route 119) overnight on Tuesday, May 26. Travel on I-495 will be maintained at all times. Traffic on local roads will be detoured and will be directed to follow the detour signage in place as follows:

  • Traffic seeking to access I-495 northbound at exit 31 will be directed to utilize I-495 southbound and take exit 30, Route 2A, to reverse direction.
  • Traffic seeking to exit I-495 northbound at exit 31 will be directed to continue northbound on I-495 and utilize exit 32, Boston Road, to reverse direction.

There will be intermittent on and off-ramp closures at I-495 southbound exit 30 (2A, 110, Littleton, Ayer) overnight on Wednesday, May 27. The following detours will be in place:

  • Traffic seeking to access I-495 southbound at exit 30 will be directed to utilize I-495 northbound to exit 31 to reverse direction.
  • Traffic seeking to exit I-495 southbound at exit 30 will be directed to continue southbound and utilize exit 29A to reverse direction.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

Drivers who are traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be impacted due to an emergency.
