The 13U Westford Junior Ghost Baseball team went 4-0 in the playoffs and are now the #1 seed heading into this coming weekends’ semifinals.
Among the highlights from last weekends playoff victories was a no-hitter from Ghost Pitcher Tyler Eliasen…a complete game shutout from Ghost pitcher Mason Bergeron and three stellar pitching performances from Ryan Snow, Billy Chiasson and JJ Funaro.
The semi final game will be at home (Forge Field in Westford) at 10 a.m. and if they win, they will advance to the 13U EBL Championship game on Sunday at the Newe England Baseball Complex in Northboro at 830 a.m.
The team has a combined (playoff and regular season) record of 25-4.
Background
The team is comprised of all Westford kids and they play in the Elite Baseball League, which is mainly made up of “club” teams (teams made up from all stars of several surrounding towns).
Many of these 13 year olds won the whole EBL (Elite Baseball League) championship last year.
