BREAKING NEWS!

Town Manager Jodi Ross announced on Jan. 7 that the town’s public safety workers will receive the COVID-19 vaccination beginning Tuesday, Jan. 12.

Health officials have grouped Westford with other nearby towns as they begin administering the vaccine. Participating in this early phase with Westford, are Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Tewksbury, and Tyngsborough.

On Tuesday evening, Jan. 12, at the select board meeting, Health Director Jeffrey Stephens will present a plan for vaccinating the rest of the town, Ross said.

“I don’t think he has a lot of information yet, because it’s dependent on when he gets the vaccine, but they are ready to go,” Ross said. “He told me he can vaccinate people within 24 hours of when they receive the vaccine.”

UPDATE — The vaccinations will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 12, according to Health Director Jeffrey Stephens. An earlier version of this story said the vaccinations would start on Monday, Jan. 11.
