With a population of about 24,000, Westford relies on the services of the Police Department to maintain law and order.
A large effort is made to preserve the small town feel of a community in which people help each other.
But one look at last week’s 8-page Police log and the illusion whithers. There were approximately 130 listed incidents involving Westford police.
Officers responded to calls ranging from false alarms to larceny.
