Auggie, an 11 year old Australian Shepherd and Gigi, a 9 year old Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix are two bonded, mild-tempered dogs looking for a home together. Both dogs were surrendered to the Lowell Humane Society after the owner lost housing. Their prior home had an abundance of dogs which has left Auggie and Gigi shy and a bit skittish, according to Crystal Arnott, the shelter’s Communications and Fundraising Manager. “They are a little nervous with new people, but once they get to know you, they do warm up a little bit more,” Arnott said. “They are definitely bonded and attached to each other.”
Auggie and Gig would do well with another “mellow” dog in the house. “Maybe one that’s a little more confident to help guide them,” said Arnott.
“They are both beautiful dogs with gorgeous coats,” Arnott said. “I don’t think these two are going to last very long at all. They are just so sweet and even having to go together, I just know there is a family out there willing to take these ‘golden oldies’ in and give them some fantastic final years.”
Auggie and Gigi are available now for adoption through the Lowell Humane Society. Interested adopters can call the shelter at 978-452-7781 or email info@lowellhumanesociety.org to schedule an appointment to meet them.
