Friendly, 2-month-old guinea pig, Piplup is one of many pigs who were recently surrendered to the Lowell Humane Society. Because guinea pigs are very social creatures, Piplup would do best in a home with other guinea pigs or with his “Pokemon” inspired enclosure mates, Psyduck and Ditto, said the shelter’s volunteer coordinator, Lindsey Andella.
“Psyduck and Ditto are a little bit older than him, they are six months, and he came in with a bunch of other guinea pigs as well”, said Andell. “We separated them out with who got along best. Because he is younger than the other two he is living with, we would be open to adopting him out to a home with another guinea pig….but if someone is looking into adopting the trio, he could live with them as well.”
Lindsey describes Piplup and his roomates as being really good at being held and handled. “Piplup can sit here all day (on my chest). He is so friendly and nice.”
Piplup is available now for adoption through the Lowell Humane Society. Interested adopters can call the shelter at 978-452-7781 or email info@lowellhumanesociety.org to schedule an appointment to meet him.
