As Phase 4 of the Commonwealth’s reopening process continues, WestfordCAT’s Patty Stocker talks with Ellen Rainville, Director of the J.V. Fletcher Library, about library services. Rainville reminds residents of the many safe options available including reserved in-house browsing, curbside pickup, Browse the Tent, Build-a-Bag, virtual programs, and downloadable e-services.
“At the library, we did have to begin planning our summer reading program in January,” said Rainville. “So a great deal of our summer plans are still going to be outdoors and going to be safe and are going to be fun. We will have our car radio dial again – 1610 JVF ‘Still Serving You.’ We’re looking forward to continuing to have services to be as safe as possible and because outdoors is 70 times safer, a lot of what we’re planning is going to be outdoors.”
Rainville also touches on April vacation week, how a J.V. Fletcher Library card gives access to a holding to any library in the state, and how state Sen. Edward Kennedy managed to get funding for all six public libraries in his district for remote juvenile programming.
Rainville reminds residents to visit westfordlibrary.org to learn more about all the services available or to talk with library staff by calling 978-692-5555.
