Dear Members and Friends,
We are LOOKING for some very cool CATS to join us in the year ahead. This year, 2021, may be the Chinese year of the ox but here in Westford it continues to be the year of our incredible CAT.
Our non-profit Community Access Television station has helped keep our community on track this year with pure grit. The amazing creativity and tech wizardry of our staff enabled WCAT to broadcast and LIVESTREAM two OUTDOOR town meetings to residents sheltering at home. WCAT also made it possible for the whole town to watch the 2020 Westford Academy Graduation Ceremony last summer. They made it look easy but it was incredibly hard to pull off.
Our station continued to bring us community supported local programming from our own residents and…
- Featured syndicated programming from community media around the country
- Hired a WA student intern to report local sports news
- Reported our LOCAL news
- Gave a weekly town health information update during the pandemic
- Built a podcast studio for town residents!
Our unique news programming brings us professional news by former Boston Globe correspondent, Joyce Pellino Crane as well as Patty Stocker who brings her communications education and experience into her video creations.
In order to continue to enjoy our excellent public town media, we formed a Volunteer force to help raise money. Even in a pandemic, we have had a lot of fun together!
As 2021 continues to unfold, we are inviting more volunteers to join us as part of our Community All Together program!! It’s easy, fun and a great cause! So, if you want to hang out with some very COOL and clever CATS, please come and join us. We are purring and planning for great events in the year ahead.
If you are interested, please contact: taskforce@westfordcat.org
Thank you for being a very cool cat!
