LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson have announced that Christian Lemay, 19 of Dracut and Braedyn Baraby, 16 of Lowell have been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Adrian Kimborowicz that occurred in September.
On September 26, 2020, Lowell Police responded to a Sutherland Street home for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival police located Adrian Kimborowicz suffering from an apparent gunshot wound but conscious. The victim remained hospitalized until he died from his injuries on October 28, 2020. The subsequent investigation of the incident suggests that the defendants had arranged to meet the victim. When they arrived at the scene both defendants allegedly exited their car and shot the victim. Since September, investigators have been pursuing leads and interviewing witnesses. Recently, additional information was developed which led to these arrests.
Both Lemay and Baraby were arrested in their homes last night without incident and will be arraigned today in Lowell District Court. Lemay was previously charged in this matter with armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Lowell Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
(These charges are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.)
