Retiring board member, Marilyn Katler, has opened a seat on the WestfordCAT board of directors which Kristina Greene, known for her volunteerism with Sustainable Westford and Westford Finance Committee, is slated to fill.

Greene worked as a software engineer in the Defense Industry for 12 years. After deciding to stay home full-time with her children she started volunteering her time in the community.  She is on the board of Sustainable Westford and started the Upcycle it! Recycling program in the spring of 2010.  She has volunteered with the Westford Recycling Commission for over 10 years and is currently Vice Chair of the Westford Finance Committee.

Jeffries has served for one year on the WCAT Board of Directors and is up for re-election for two year terms. Bob has been working on re-estabishing the Town’s Communications Advisory Committee and gathering information on the use of the Town’s public right-of-way and the long-term financial well-being of PEG media in town.

Continuing on the board are Kristi Bates, President; Jack Wang, Treasurer; Diane Wood, Clerk; Tom Clay, Select Board Liaison and Sean P. Kelly, School Committee Liaison.

Recently, a committee made up of WestfordCAT members and members of the Board revised the organization’s bylaws (You can watch the recorded presentation on YouTube: https://youtu.be/tdg6hnChB2M) adding a Nominating Committee.

From Article III, section 7 of the WestfordCAT Bylaws – A Nominating Committee of three members is elected each year by the Members. One member of the Nominating Committee shall be a representative of the Board. The other two shall be “at large” non-Board Members. This year, the three nominees are: Newell Tillman, Catherine Ricketson and Susan Spuhler.

Newell Tillman is a retired Electronics Instrumentation Engineer, a Westford resident of more than 45 years, and a WCAT volunteer more than 10 years. He is a former Board Member with Westford Museum and Parish Center for the Arts. He served many years as a boating safety instructor with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Tillman volunteered in a variety of activities throughout 17 years of retirement.

Catherine Bartholomew Ricketson, MSW, LCSW has been a member of our Community Task Force for the past year. Cathy is a Licensed Social Worker who currently works with clients at the Healing Garden in the town of Harvard. She formerly worked in Hospice and with Alzheimer’s Families and ran a free grief support program in Westford for 15 years.

Susan McNeill Spuhler is a long-term volunteer with WestfordCAT, currently serving on the board of directors. “I see us as ambassadors to the T.V. station,” said Spuhler. “Going out and letting everyone know that the station exists and what we can offer. People can come and create their own television shows and they can become sponsors and they can get all sorts of wonderful publicity from us…let your imagination run wild and have a great time.”

Station members and guests are cordially invited to attend – in person – the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 23 beginning at 6pm. Tour the station and check-out the new podcast/sound studio! RSVP to Sarah Fletcher: sfletcher@westfordcat.org. The meeting will be live-streamed.
