Annual Magazine Giveaway Signup now underway! Each fall we discard our oldest magazine issues to make room for the incoming year, and we offer them to our patrons first before recycling them. We’re now taking orders for our 2020 issues! If you want any particular titles, contact Charles Schweppe at 978-399-2304 or at cschweppe@westfordma.gov. This is a “first come, first serve” service. You’ll be notified when your titles are ready.

Virtual Adult Nonfiction Book Club: Tue., Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. We’ll discuss The Innovators by Walter Isaacson. Print copies are available at Main Desk. Please specify the book title and club name. The e-book is available on Overdrive, and the digital audiobook is on Hoopla. Email Charles Schweppe at cschweppe@westfordma.gov for Zoom details!

Stony Brook Book Club: Wed., Oct. 6 at 2 p.m.: JV Fletcher YA Librarian, Jess, joins the Stony Brook Middle School librarian and students after school in the school library. We’ll discuss our book club options for the year and pick up our first book! Remember to bring your library card to the first meeting!

Virtual Westford Job Seekers Meeting: Wed., Oct. 6 at 3 p.m.: Join us for “Building a Job Search Toolbox” with Randall Warniers. To attend a WJS Meeting, please email Dina Kanabar at dkanabar@westfordma.gov.  Attendees will receive a link to access the Zoom Meeting via email. Weekly topics may be found on our job seekers web page.

Virtual College Admissions & Financial Aid 101: Thu., Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Jennifer Carberry of Carberry College Consulting explains how to understand colleges’ admissions goals and how students can decide what they’re looking for. Financial advisor T. Jack Wang explains how to get more financial aid, including what factors are considered, differences in school formulas, and how to avoid unintentional mistakes! Virtual Adult Book Club: Thu., Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. We will discuss Barker House by David Moloney. Copies are available at Main Desk. Please request the book by title when you come to pick it up and tell the staff it is for the Library Adult Book Club. Email Kristina Leedberg at kleedberg@westfordma.gov for the Zoom details!

Virtual Holistic Health for Your Kids: Thu., Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m. Westford Academy student and Girl Scout Niharika Chawla presents her Gold Award health program, featured by The Kids’ League of Westford this past spring. This holistic approach taught kids healthy habits about nutrition, mindfulness, hygiene, and physical fitness. Please register online through our Events Calendar.

Snap Circuits for Grades 3-5: Friday, October 15 3:30-4:30 p.m.in the Meeting Room. Explore and play with our Snap Circuits kits and make connections that whir, spin, light up, move, and buzz! We own a variety of kits: R/C Car, Green Energy, Motion, Light, Arcade, 3-D Illumination, and Snap Circuits Junior for beginners. Please register online through our Events Calendar.

Teen and Tween Make & Take Crafternoon: Monday, Oct. 18, 3:30-4:30 PM Make & Take Crafternoon. Join us in the Meeting Room to make your own mini monster book or spell book, and decorate a pumpkin! No registration required.

Trustees Go Pass (de Cordova/Fruitlands and Trustees of Reservation sites): Deepen your connection to the land, the outdoors, and our history at 116 statewide properties. Our Friends funded pass admits up to 1 person based on availability. Check out our website or call the Library for reservations.
